When her father’s health meant he could no longer work, Beatrice’s* final ‘A’ Level Year at Queen’s could no longer be afforded. The family had done everything in their power to make the fee payments, but, after mortgage payments and other bills, they had to inform the school that they could no longer afford the fees.
The school encouraged them to contact The School Fees Charitable Trust who were able to award £2,700 towards the final year’s bill. This, together with the school’s contribution, enabled Beatrice to complete her ‘A’ levels and go on to University.

Luke* suffered a violent attack in the area where he lived and refused to go to school because of it. His family were very pleased when he was offered a bursary to attend Lime House School. The care and pastoral support made an amazing difference to Luke, and he grew to love school again and was no longer afraid.
When his mother lost her job and was no longer able to afford the fees, she turned to The School Fees Charitable Trust for help.
The Trustees were able to award a grant of £4,875 over 4 terms, which gave Luke’s mother the opportunity to keep him at the school to complete his GCSE’s whilst she found a new job. Luke was able to stay in his safe environment and continue with his education.

Jake’s* father suddenly passed away just as he began his GCSE year. He nearly not only lost a parent but, due to their straitened financial circumstances, his place at school also. This meant that his mother had to ask for help to keep Jake and his sister in their schools. During such a life changing time the certainty, and familiarity of the school and friends is something that is so important.
The School Fees Charitable Trust was able to award Jake and his sister, who was in the final year of A Levels, an award totalling £2,000 per term.
