The School Fees Charitable Trust

We know just how important a child’s school years are. It’s about far more than gaining a first-class education. A school provides a child’s support network, moral guidance and creates a platform for adult life.

The aim of the School Fees Charitable Trust is to assist those parents who, having selected private education for their child with reasonable expectations of being able to meet the costs from their own resources, are unable to pay the fees as a result of genuine hardship, arising from a sudden and unforseen change of circumstances.

I’m convinced I wouldn’t be enjoying the life I am today without the Trust’s intervention. I want someone else to be given the same amazing lifeline that I received.

Qualifying criteria

Grants are made to cover either the final year of the GCSE course or the final year of A levels, or years of equivalent examinations (e.g. the International Baccalaureate, Standards and Highers). In exceptional circumstances, the Trustees may consider making a grant for a longer period, or for a child in the final year of prep school.
Normally, the maximum award granted will be 25% of the net fee after deduction of any other awards, e.g. from the school or other charitable trusts.
The Trust will only consider applications where the school and the parents make a contribution to the fee.
Normally, the Trust will only consider applications where the change of circumstances has occurred within 12 months prior to the date of the application to the Trust.
